EXERCISE PHYSIOLOGY
Accredited Exercise Physiologists (AEP) are university qualified allied health professionals specialised in clinical exercise prescription to improve the quality of life of patients at high-risk of developing or already dealing with chronic and complex medical conditions and injuries. These conditions include, but are not limited to the following:

Chronic back, neck, and shoulder pain

Musculoskeletal disorders such as knee and hip replacements, or injuries

Cardiovascular diseases such as hypertension (high blood pressure) or hyperlipidaemia (high cholesterol)

Pre-diabetes and diabetes type I and II
-
Pre-obesity and obesity (weight management)
-
Neuromuscular disorders such as multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's diseases, stroke and cerebral palsy

Depression and anxiety
-
Bone related disorders such as arthritis, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, osteoporosis and osteopenia

Oncology (Cancer)
The skills and knowledge of an AEP can also be valuable for:

The Chronic Disease Management (formerly Enhanced Primary Care or EPC) — GP services on the Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS) enable GPs to plan and coordinate the health care of patients with chronic or terminal medical conditions, including patients with these conditions who require multidisciplinary, team-based care from a GP and at least two other health or care providers. Individuals with a chronic medical condition may be eligible for up to five (5) allied health visits per calendar year, including exercise physiology services within Medicare, eligibility is determined by your GP.

Accredited Exercise Physiologists are registered with Workcover, Medicare Australia and a number of health funds, check with your health care fund to see if you are eligible for the services.
